Insights into IRIS Public Engagement

Public engagement is not an extra. It’s not decoration. It is the bridge between what we research – and the people we do it for.

At IRIS we have the chance to build that bridge.

We opened doors: through dialogue, through formats, through curiosity.

We created space: for children to imagine robots, for citizens to question AI, for researchers to listen.

From VR experiences to fake news tests, from public festivals to online talks – each format had one goal: to make intelligent systems understandable.

It wasn’t always easy. Balancing academic expectations and public accessibility takes courage. But it’s necessary.

This is a short glimpse of what IRIS Public Engagement looked like – and there is more to come.

Because research doesn’t end in the lab, it gains relevance when it connects with society.
