Prompt-Based Stance Control in German: An Evaluation of LLMs for Experimental Research on Attitude Change
We are happy to share that Agnieszka Faleńska and Cornelia Sindermann, together with Florian Omiecienski, have co-authored a paper accepted to the 15th Language Resources and Evaluation Conference (LREC 2026)
The paper, "Prompt-Based Stance Control in German: An Evaluation of LLMs for Experimental Research on Attitude Change" is a collaboration with another IRIS3D group, represented by Cornelia Sindermann. It investigates whether large language models can be reliably steered to adopt predefined political stances in German, which is an important prerequisite for controlled experimental research on human–LLM interactions and attitude change.
The paper appears in the Proceedings of LREC 2026, held in Palma, Mallorca, Spain, on 11–16 May 2026.
